The Cabot High School Swim Team recently started the season with a new coach for the season, Coach Sprawls.

“It’s been crazy because we got a new coach, but as the season goes on we’ve been getting better and stronger as a team,” junior Kate Minge said.

Practice is always the key to success in sports, and some will take practice to another level to prove their levels in the sports they love.

“I’m on another swim team, which I use to help me be prepared for the school swim team,” sophomore Eli Young said.

Goals are what help teams climb the ladder.

“My goal is to recover from my heart problem and be able to compete in state,” senior Genevieve De Araujo said.

Landon Hardister earned the title of Senior Swim Team Captain recently. Hardister also plans on committing to Hendrix University and their Division-3 swim team.

“The memories I have through swimming will always be a highlight of my time in high school. I’m extremely grateful for the opportunity to lead such a great team. The team has been able to overcome many challenges this season and is prepared for the upcoming Conference and State competitions.

“I’m very proud of the team this season, especially considering how adverse it was. We’ve put in the work, so I’m excited to see how the team performs at Conference and State. And while my high school swimming career might be over, I look forward to continuing swimming at Hendrix in the fall,” Hardister added.
