Bowling Keeps Rolling

The boys and girls bowling teams have been dominating with boys winning five consecutive State Championships and the girls now working for their fifth consecutive State Title. The girls bowling team are 8-0 currently on the season. The boys bowling team is sitting at 7-1, the only loss being against Benton. The teams have their eyes set on a big goal and hope to work together to earn that prize. Coach Bing and Coach Imhoff have done well coaching over the years and it’s showing with how dominate the Panthers are.

The boys team doesn’t think they’ve hit their peak just yet. “We are finally learning how to bowl as a team and feed off of each others momentum and I think we can go further than just a one loss season,” Junior Case Bratton said. The bowling team is extremely young so chemistry could be something that can carry into next season as well. “We have just one senior on our team so next year when we are all seniors we will have been in our second or third year bowling together and I think that can lead to us winning some jewelry,” Bratton said.

The girls team is also currently on pace to do something incredible. This season is following a year that the girls obtained their fourth consecutive State Championship. The girls are currently 8-0 on the season and the average margin of victory for the lady Panthers has been 559 pins.

Like Coach Bing stated earlier this year, “Our goal is to win and reach every possible goal of the team this season,” and they have definitely done that. As the bowling season is coming to an end, both teams are still in the hunt for a State Championship. They will compete in Baker Tournaments leading up to the big tournament which will be hosted in Jonesboro. “If we can get everything under our feet and go in the right direction I believe this team can do special things,” Bing said.

This season could end in normal fashion, a dominate season concluding with another piece of hardware and jewelry. All the Panthers can do is bowl at the same pace they currently are to achieve that goal.
