The Cabot Panthers traveled to Jonesboro and put a stop to the Hurricanes, 27-14. The game was intense. Both teams battled out on the field, running back and forth trying to get as many points as possible before the time ran out.
Starting off the first quarter number 28, Cassle Bing kicked off to begin the game. A few minutes later, Cabot received the ball running to the end zone but falling short, but then was pushed into the end zone giving the Panthers a touchdown.The Panthers then received an extra field goal point.
Number 5, Terran Brown, threw the ball and the Hurricanes received it and rushed into the end zone. Jonesboro scored a touchdown, followed by an extra field goal.
The score was 7:7, making it a tie for the final quarter.
Jonesboro had the ball in the beginning of the second quarter.
Number 15, Hayes Cox received the ball and rushed into the endzone, giving the Panthers a touchdown. This was then followed by a field goal by number 58, Dean Heyer.
Cabot and Jonesboro were going back and forth on the field trying to make it into the end zone.
Near the end of the second quarter, Cabot was able to make a field goal assuring them three extra points.
The score at the end of the third quarter was 17:7.
The third quarter was very slow, but good for Cabot.
With 5 minutes left in the third quarter, Number 36, Keegan Vest rolled the ball into the end zone, followed by an extra point from a field goal.
The final score for the third quarter was 24:7.
With Cabot being in the lead for the fourth quarter, their confidence was more boosted than ever. Cabot kicked the ball into the field goal assisting them with 3 points.
In the middle of the fourth quarter, number 3, Chris Stacey rushed his way into the end zone giving Jonesboro a touchdown. The Hurricanes got an extra point as well. The rest of the game, the Panthers and Hurricanes were running back and forth on the field gaining and losing yards until the clock stopped ticking.
Cabot won with the final score being 27:14.
The next game will be a Homecoming game hosted by Cabot. The Panthers will be playing against the Little Rock Southwest Gryphons on Friday, September 29.
