It was a warm Friday afternoon in Cabot for the 2023 Homecoming game against Little Rock Southwest. The Panthers took a dub, beating Little Rock 38-12.
Before the game began, club ambassadors and Homecoming court were introduced. Wekei Wu was all smiles when she was announced Queen along with Maid of Honor, Charla Weatherley.
Number 28, Cassle Bing, kicked off the ball to start the game for Cabot. With 7 minutes on the clock, number 36, Keegan Vest, received a touchdown for the Panthers. Number 58, Dean Heyer, scored the extra point. Moments later, number 87, Anthony Liddell, received the ball from number 8, Charlie Powell, ran the ball into the endzone scoring another touchdown for Cabot. Heyer followed with an extra point for Cabot. The final score for the first quarter was 14-0.
The second quarter was a little bit of a hassle for the Panthers. Number 33, Logan Eason, kicked the ball into the field goal giving them 3 points. After going back and forth on the field, Little Rock was able to score a touchdown with 2 minutes left on the clock. Cabot intercepted a two point conversion. With 4 seconds to spare in the second quarter, Little Rock Southwest ended up making their way into the end zone giving them another touchdown. Little Rock tried for a two point conversion and it was no good.
The final score for the first half was, 17-12.
5 minutes into the third quarter the Panthers received a touchdown. Number 58, Heyer, kicked an extra point for Cabot. With 1 minute left, the Panthers ran the ball into the end zone, ending with another touchdown. Number 58, Heyer, kicked a field goal point. The score for the third quarter was 31-12.
The fourth quarter began with a recovery ball and it being run into the end zone by Cabot. This play was the final touchdown of the game. The extra point was good. Cabot won against Little Rock Southwest with a final score of 38-12.
