On Thursday, November 2nd, the Cabot Panthers competed against Violina, Conway, Bentonville, Catholic, Catholic/Mt Saint Mary, and Central Arkansas Christian.
It was a chilly evening and the Cabot High School swim team was preparing for their first meet of the season that was hosted at UCA. The Cabot Panthers were hyped for the competition ahead of them. Cabot was a powerhouse at the meet and overall with mens and womens points combined together placed third.
Beginning with the women’s 200 medley relay, the A relay team: Juliyana Fear, Cayla Garcia, Grace Esteban, and Kyndall Howard. The A relay was able to decrease their time by cutting almost one second off. Their seed time was 2:06.30 and was able to cut it down to 2:05.21.
The men’s 200 medley relay was tough. The Cabot Panthers A relay: James Bolton, Caden Niece, Jacob Herzog, and Aiden Strassner, placed second barely losing to Conway by .20 milliseconds. The A relay improved their time by a little over 7 seconds. With their seed time being 1:57.22, they were able to make it even better, making the time be 1:50.20.
Fear placed third in the women’s 200 freestyle. Fear swam a 2:14.45 for the 200.
Garcia placed first in the women’s 200 IM. With Garcia’s seed time being a 2:35.97, she was able to cut close 3 seconds off receiving the time of 2:32.18.
Bolton placed 3rd in the men’s 200 IM. Bolton unfortunately added roughly around 3 seconds with his seed time being 2:27.38 and then swam a 2:30.33 during the 200 IM.
The women’s 100 fly was rough and Esteban achieved first in the event. Esteban’s seed time was 1:00.16, and unfortunately added about 1 second. She swam a 1:01.66 during the meet.
Niece placed first as well in the men’s 100 fly. Niece did not have a seed time and swam a 59.27 during the race.
Hertzog placed first in the men’s 100 free. Hertzog was close to cutting off a second during his swim. His seed time was 53.98, he improved his time to 53.04.
The women’s 200 free A relay consisted of Allison Beason, Sara Dasvis, Brianna Mahoney, and Garcia. The A relay placed second and were able to improve their time. The A relay seed time was a 1:59.26, and was able to improve their time to a 1:56.03.
Esteban placed second in the women’s 100 back. WIth Esteban’s seed time being a 1:06.17, she was able to cut time and swim a 1:04.87.
For the men’s 100 back, Bolton was able to place second. Boltons seed time was a 1:01.38 and sadly added roughly 3 seconds making his time be a 1:04.18.
The men’s 100 breaststroke was a win for Cabot, with Hertzog placing first and Niece placing second, it helped Cabot gain some extra points. Hertzog was able to almost cut one second off of his 100 breaststroke. His seed time was 1:06.48 and was able to swim a 1:05.31. Niece was able to cut almost 4 seconds off of his seed time which was a 1:10.82 and improved his time by swimming a 1:06.56.
The last event that Cabot placed in was the men’s 400 free A relay. Hertzog, Eli young, Bolton and Niece gave it their all and were able to place second. The A relay swam a 3:45.93 barley improving their time. The A relay seed time was 3:46.76.
The Cabot Panthers next swim meet will be a home meet and will be on November 9th.
