The Cabot Panthers played against the Bentonville Tigers who hosted the game, and lost *add score here* Cabot put up a good fight against the Tigers in an effort to keep them away from the endzone and scoring.
The first quarter was a good run for the Bentonville Tigers. With 5:01 on the clock, Luke Coon caught the ball that was thrown by the Tigers offense and scored a touchdown for Bentonville, the extra point was good making the score 7-0. With 2:12 seconds left in the first quarter, Carter Nye barreled his way into the endzone receiving the second touchdown for Bentonville. The extra point was good, making the score for the first quarter 14-0.
The second quarter was redeeming but not enough to get ahead of the Bentonville Tigers. There was 6:27 on the clock and Cooper Powell dove into the endzone from the 3 yard line giving the Panthers their first touchdown of the game. The extra point was good with Cabot slowly catching up to the Tigers, 14-7.
4:21 remained on the clock and Nye passed the ball to Eli Brooks who ran into the endzone giving the Tigers a stronger lead in the first half. The extra point was good and the score for the first half was 21-7.
The third quarter the Bentonville Tigers became a powerhouse. There was 10:46 seconds on the clock when the Bentonville Tigers scored their first touchdown of the second half. There was a 5 yard penalty for the field goal kick, but the Tigers still managed to score, 28-7.
Daxton Horton rolled into the endzone with 6:05 on the clock. The extra point was good and it put the Tigers farther in the lead 35-7.
The Tigers were able to score their final touchdown of the game with 47 seconds left in the third quarter. The extra point was good, finalizing their score 42-7.
The fourth quarter Cabot tried to make a comeback and was able to score one touchdown. With 44 seconds left in the fourth quarter, Powell threw the ball to Ayden Tatum who caught the ball in the end zone. The Panthers scored their final touchdown of the game and ended their season with the final score of the second half, 42-14.
The Cabot Panthers will not be advancing in the 7A Playoffs.
