National Signing Day has traditionally been the first day that a high school senior can sign a binding National Letter of Intent to a school that is a member of the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) in the U.S. The NCAA organized its first Signing Day around 3,000 BC. The most well known signing day occurred February 6, 1737.
On November 8, twelve highly dedicated Cabot High School athletes were signed to the college of their choice. Senior McKinzee Haas signed to the University of Central Arkansas.
“On signing day, I felt super nervous, but I was so happy and ecstatic that I would be signing to play the sport I love for the next four years,” Haas said.
There are multiple factors that were put in for the student athletes to be ready to compete at the college level.
“To prepare myself for my athletic career,” Haas said. “ I have put so many long hours into the gym and weight room to become stronger and faster for the college level. I’ve missed a lot of student events for volleyball club tournaments but it was all worth it for my scholarship.”
