Both Tuesday and Wednesday have been canceled due to the snow. The forecast for this past week was, Monday would be cold with a high temperature of 23 degrees Fahrenheit, and a low of 14. An arctic front ushered in Martin Luther King Jr day.
Tuesday was colder, as the highs got up to only 22 degrees and the lows down to five.
Wednesday was the coldest day of the week, with a high of 33 and a low of only one degree.
As Thursday and Friday rounded out the snowy week, a slow warm up began where the highs were projected to 37 degrees and the lows down to 19.
Students, such as junior Kaydence Tanner, liked to have snowball fights when it snowed.
“I like to have snowball fights,” Tanner said. “Especially with the little kids.”
Meanwhile others, such as senior Jesse Sidoti, preferred to stay inside when it snows.
“I like the peace and quiet,” Sidoti said. “The only thing I dislike about the snow is that it’s cold, really cold.”
Tanner agreed with Sidoti’s as Tanner also doesn’t like the snow.
“I much prefer summer, I never did like the cold,” Tanner said.
According to story maps.arcgis.com, it was not unexpected that the state received snow this year. Arkansans may not see lots of snow yearly but some type of wintry precipitation is typical during the Winter season.
