This past weekend, the wrestling team placed first in the State Championship for the second year in a row. The wrestling team left on Friday February 23 and competed at University of Arkansas at Little Rock.
Friday morning wrestlers did their weigh-ins at 7 with the tournament beginning at 9am.
Cabot competed against Heritage, Bentonville West, Bentonville, Little Rock Central, Springdale, Rogers, Fayetteville, North Little Rock, Catholic, Conway, Fort Smith Northside, Jonesboro, Bryant, Southwest, Fort Smith Southside, and Har- Ber.
Sophomore Conner Hester placed second in state overall in his weight class 106.
Junior Blake Johnson placed second in state as well his weight class 126.
Senior Gabe Capel placed third in state in his weight class 144.
Senior Jacob Taylor placed fourth in state in his weight class 150.
Senior Noah Sample placed first in state in his weight class 165.
Junior Cael Turner placed first in state in his weight class 190.
Senior Logan Eason placed first in state as well in his weight class of 215.
Sophomore Mallory Williams placed second in state in her weight class of 135.
Sophomore Kaylie Owens placed third in her weight class of 145.
Lastly freshman Charlea Kaykhossrokiani placed third in her weight class of 235.
As the season came to an end wrestlers came out of the season as a team supporting one another in each match. Wrestlers now are moving forward towards off-season to prepare for next years season.
