The rising star of the theater enters the stage, giving breathtaking performances as he acts his role. Austin Selucky the son of Sidney and Kevin Selucky, is a senior and one of the lead actors in the Spring play, The Seussical. Austin was born in Germany and lived there for two years before flying to Arkansas to live on the military base in Little Rock. After about a year of living on base Austin and his family moved to Cabot to start school.
Austins’ dream of theater began when he was young, when he witnessed his first high school play.
“I actually always wanted to do theatre it first started as like a Disney dream but I saw the high school do like live musical theatre and I knew that’s what I wanted to do in High school,” Selucky said.
In the past couple of years, Austin Selucky played some important roles in the plays.
“I have only done shows from high school so I was in Music Man, and Anything Goes but did a horrible performance,” Selucky said. “I did Elf and Alice By Heart, then in my senior year, I played the Dad in Marry Poppins, and now I’m playing Cat in the Hat in the next play.”
Out of all of the projects he’s participated in, there is only one play that he favors the most.
Selucky said, “Alice by Heart has a wonderful story and my most favorite show probably I’ll ever do.”
When on the stage Austin is know for many of things some may be for his calm and collected personality, others maybe because of his funny attitude, but senior Harleigh Thomas, one of his many friends finds him to be much more.
“Austin is a caring person when you get to know him,” Thomas said. “He’s probably most known for his humorous acting.”
