With a new school year starting, sophomores face a big, new campus for the first time. Sophomores strove to overcome many challenges both socially and academically when coming into high school.
Upperclassmen gave pieces of advice to welcome Cabot High School’s new students. Senior Zoei Carter suggested academic focus for the upcoming school pressure.
Carter said, “The biggest advice I could give to a sophomore would be to stay on top of your classes because entering high school is a big change and it’ll take time and hard work to adjust.”
Others believed high school was more about the people you meet and the classes you take. Senior Bradley Meza recommended finding lifelong friendships and interests during tenth grade.
“Going into sophomore year, you should talk to everyone and make sure you try out different clubs to find out who and what fits you best,” Meza said. “If you like what you’re doing and who you’re with, high school will fly by.”
