High school is a harsh world without a community to go to. For many, extracurriculars gave an outlet to show true personality. Students join activities to take some stress off of academics and have a crew for the next three years.
On September 25, students participated in Club Rush. Tables were set up around the courtyard during lunch for students to walk around and be educated on what clubs were offered.
Participants set up the event and were excited for new experiences. Sophomore Shawn Tavorn-Spencer signed up for the Astronomy Club.
“I’m so excited to go to the Astronomy Club,” Tavorn-Spencer said. “I got a telescope for Christmas and I want to donate it to the group.”
Teachers sponsoring a club educated students on options. E-Sports sponsor Joseph Maxwell had a lot of students who signed up.
Maxwell said, “We had way more people sign up than we did last year, and our meeting had over 20 come.”
