The highly anticipated show Wednesday, brought to you by Netflix, has released the start of season two just before the start of the school year. Viewers ask, will the new season of Wednesday be equal to the first season?
In the second season, Wednesday’s brother became a part of the main character set along with the new principal, played by the season actor, Steve Buscemi.
The new season brought new ideas that I feel drove the story naturally. The general vibe of the original Wednesday series was kept into the second season which I consider amazing given the time separation between the seasons.
Wednesday’s second season was considered not a failure by critics, but a win. Rotten Tomatoes gave it 84% on the tomato meter and 75% on the popcorn meter. In reflection, there is no doubt that the second season of Wednesday broke the cycle of bad and recycled entertainment for the whole family to enjoy. The next episode was released September 3rd, with 8 episodes coming out total. Many feel there will be something to look forward to.
On a personal note, while watching the new season over the past few weeks, I felt many thoughts on Wednesday, one of which, that character had very clear intentions of sleuthing. This made the story feel inclusive to the watcher, being they were a part of her story as it unfolded. Adding on to the amazing show was the natural flow of conversion between characters. It felt as well written as the first season.
The series ended with a cliff hanger, one I encourage others to find. May the Never-more high bring all the frights and cries of excitement to all who dare to view it.
