On October 23, Attorney General of Arkansas Leslie Rutledge held a press conference at the Cabot Freshman Academy to launch the Prescription for Life Program in Lonoke County. Several school and law officials accompanied Rutledge as she spoke about the opioid epidemic and the online program. She explained why this program is important. “Because, friends, we have opioid epidemic across Arkansas and across our country,” Rutledge said.

Prescription for Life is a hands-on digital program that teaches about specific uses and side effects of different prescription drugs. Rutledge and the group of officials entered a classroom of students who had been going through the program. She spoke of some of the dangers of prescription drug misuse and the action that is being taken to stop the epidemic.
