Going Gold: Ruthie Bolton’s Visit to CHS

Ruthie Bolton presented CHS Student-Athletes with a motivational speech on January 6. Bolton is a decorated women’s basketball player who has competed in two Olympic Games, winning gold with her team in both games. Bolton grew up in Mississippi and competed with her sister Mae Ola throughout her life. Bolton spoke of the challenges she faced when going Olympic, including being sidelined by her Auburn University coach. All CHS Student-Athletes were invited to see Bolton speak.

“Something that stood out to me the most about Ruthie Bolton is how she was able to overcome adversity. She was able to take what she was gifted with, and translate that into overcoming obstacles in her life.” Student-Athlete Nick Hazeslip said.
