Cabot High School teacher’s celebrate the achievement of receiving the highest 7A ACT Aspire scores for last year’s testing cycle.
There were many factors that helped students and staff to achieve this goal.
“Well, it’s a team effort from all the teachers,” principal Henry Hawkins said. “They bought into the needs of the school and supported the mission.”
Students prepared throughout the year for the assessment. Teachers all over campus facilitated students reading articles once a week to help increase their reading and comprehension scores.
“Our goal last year was reading and comprehension and writing,” Hawkins said. “It was really the main focus and made the biggest difference. And that was done virtually by all the teachers on campus, and they were teaching reading and writing in every class.”
There are also some goals this year the staff would like to achieve as well.
“Our goal this year is to continue to do what we do best, our goal is to do more in the time we have with students, utilizing all the minutes in the class, bell to bell,” Hawkins said.
