The Botany and Zoology teacher, Michelle Benson, took her students to the Bell Slough hiking trail this past Friday. The goal for the field trip was for students to find bugs, worms, amphibians, and wildlife and to be able to identify the species.
Students left campus at 8:30 and arrived at the trail at 9:20. Students walked to the trail for two hours and met back at the beginning of the trail at 11:30. Students then went to lunch and got the option of Pizza Hut, Subway, and Dollar General. After eating lunch, they went back to school to attend 7th period.
Students enjoyed spending the day being outdoors and looking for wildlife.
“We are in a nature reserve and we are hiking dude. We are out here looking for salamanders, lizards, and snakes,” senior Brennon Kesselberg said.
On Monday, in Class, students had to make a slideshow with photos of the species they took photos of and identify the species.
