Cabot’s weather had recently dropped into colder temperatures. Students adjusted everything to not feel the weather change.
Senior Christopher Porten wasn’t ready for the sudden weather change.
“I’m from Florida so it kind of gets cold there,” Porten said. “Here it’s cold but the wind is crazy. I’m okay with the cold, but when the wind blows I’m not ready for it.”
Before the cold weather, Cabot had a warm period for a while, which lasted longer than normal. Porten is still trying to understand the changing climate.
“I didn’t know it stayed warm here that long. All my friends said that it gets really cold here,” Porten said.
Students who had been living in Cabot for their whole lives still don’t like the climate. Senior Lindsey Manry was really into the cold weather.
“Honestly I really like it. It means it’s closer to Christmas,” Manry said. “I hope it snows.”
The change in climate is shown in the world around us and some students want to see change.
Manry said, “I live with a bunch of trees around and some of the leaves haven’t fallen, but other than that the weather is really relaxing.”
The cold weather wasn’t the worst thing. Students weren’t enjoying the wind that comes with it.
Manry said, “Man, sitting outside with the wind hurts my face but it’s nice outside and I don’t want to miss the opportunity of a nice, clear sky.”
