Saturday, March 8, 2025, several Cabot students on the Cabot Archery Team traveled to the Hot Springs Convention Center to compete in the 2025 State Competition.
Cabot placed in the top ten schools in the state, ranking 8 out of 30 competing schools with an overall score of 3214 and had a total of 121 bullseyes from their team.
Junior Brooklyn Carmical won 4th place and earned a thousand-dollar scholarship, with a score of 284, and scored 19 bullseyes.
“It felt really nice to be up there for the third time in a row.” Carmical said. “I placed first last year, so I was hoping to as well this year, but I think I did well enough.”

Placing high enough in this state competition gave Carmical hope that she would do well in national competition in May.
“I’m so excited for Nationals,” Carmical said. “I’m hoping to score high so I can go to the world’s competition.”

Also, Senior Peyton Williams won fifth place with a score of 284 and 17 bullseyes. Williams earned a five-hundred dollar scholarship.
“I’m very excited to go to Nationals,” Williams said. “This is my last year, and to be able to experience this with my team one last time is an amazing feeling.”
With the team’s overall score, they qualify to go to the National competition in Louisville, Kentucky in early May.
