The Art Show for Cabot High School was held April 23-25. This year, sophomores through seniors created amazing pieces with luxurious colors and aspiring effort.
Visual Art classes were taught by Helen Goodman and Christine Guenard.
“Mrs Guenard and I, alongside Visual Arts II-III, the 2D Art and 3D students are all involved,” Goodman said. “All of Art is involved in this.”
Goodman was excited to showcase the hard work of the program’s students.
“I want to show how much the students have grown over this year,“ Goodman said.
Skills developed year long and the outcome was worth the process.
“I see this as a way to showcase the students’ growth and skill,” Goodman said. “Just as the band and football teams have their games and performances, this is our way of showing off the skills of the students.”
There were no restrictions on who could enter the show.
“It doesn’t matter which class it is, all can show their work in the showcase,” Guenard said. “From Art I, II, III 2D, 3D and AP Art, each of them needs to give a number of pieces to the show, no one misses out.”
There was a sense of relief as student’s work got to this year’s final showcase.
“It’s letting go of something you put so much work in, and it’s out of your hands and is able to be judged by so many,” Guenard said. ”It’s like getting rid of a burp.”
The future looked bright for Guenard’s students.
“My hope is that they continue to do Art, whether they’re an accountant, business manager or whatever they decide,” Guenard said. “I want them to do art when they are as old as me.”
Four students received Best of Show awards: Sophia Blea 10, Sam Waller 11 and Myleigh Rogers 12. Camden Wells received the event’s trophy award.
