Participating and winning in a competitive sport can be very rewarding to players. On January 13, Cabot High School hosted schools across the state for a wrestling tournament. Both boys and girls secured a win for the Panthers undefeated.
Contributing to a sport you can not play was a good way to stay involved. Sophomore Danny Cox, an injured wrestler, worked the tournament to support his peers.
“I can’t play, but I did the scoreboard and the clock,” Cox said. “Cabot won for the girls and guys.”
Winning in a wrestling match was beneficial to a student’s self-esteem, and Sophomore Christina Bivins won her dual.
“I wrestled against someone from North Little Rock,” Bivins said. “It made me feel so confident in my skill.”
