On December 25, Christmas rolled around. Christmas was a holiday celebrated by people around the world. Normally, on this holiday, individuals would wake up alongside family to open gifts at an early time and spend time together.
Students at Cabot High School had two weeks of school off for the holidays, starting on December 19 and ending on January 6. Students came back to school on January 7 and had many great things to say about what they got for Christmas.
Christmas was a time when families came together to enjoy each other’s company. Sophomore Aubrey Dyson felt all the love during the holiday season.
“I woke up around 7 am and hung out with my family until it was time to open gifts,” Dyson said. “I was so happy whenever my older sister came over and gave me my favorite plushie from a show I really like.”
Gaming made sophomore Jae Corlis cheerful when she got to spend time with her friends over the phone.
“Whenever I opened my presents at 8 am, I was happy to see I got a PlayStation 5,” Corlis said. “I also get to play Roblox on a bigger screen with my friends with the help of my console.”
Makeup was a fun way to start the day when sophomore Skylar Toney was given new chunky glitter makeup to make her look flawless and amazing for a night out with friends.
“I got a new violin so I could make nice music,” Toney said. “I stayed home all day after opening presents at 9 am.”
Music was used to calm down after a long day. Sophomore Sebastian Vazquez enjoyed the many records of his favorite music artists.
“For Christmas, I got a new record player paired with new vinyls,” Vasquez said. “One of the vinyls I got was Faye Webster’s album ‘Atlanta Millionaires Club’.”
Creativity on Christmas was a dream achieved when sophomore Kaelyn Eaves made fun gifts with the new sewing kit she received.
“I got a lot of new sewing supplies and a world globe as presents,” Eaves said. “My day was spent at my house in my living room with my family.”
Pie dishes were a great gift when Senior Jaylee Covey acquired one that was shaped like a Blueberry Pie.
“This Christmas I was very happy because I received such a unique pie dish and I made blueberry pie in it,” Covey said. “I also received lots of other things, but the pie dish was my overall favorite.”
Christmas was a blast this year. Many gifts and smiles were needed to make this Christmas Memorable.
