FFA District Competition Preparation

CHS FFA will be participating in their district Career Development Event competition on March 8th taking place in Jonesboro.
There are different specialty areas in which students being sent will compete in. Once they arrive, participants will be dispersed into their assigned teams for certain sections. These include: agriculture mechanics, vet science, course judging, and livestock judging. CHS FFA students will compete against students from all over the state striving to win many desired titles.
Junior Kaden Ables is eager to attend as he competed last year and scored 7th individual in his category. This year, he will be placed in the livestock evaluation team. The livestock group holds a special place since he has been around animals his whole life.
“We go to Mr. Ragland every Tuesday and Thursday, and we have after-school practice for about an hour long,” Ables said.
Whoever wins the top eight teams at district goes to compete for state.
The practice competition “Hog Wild” was held over the weekend of February 25th.
Be sure to support our FFA team as they go through the different levels of competition the weekend of the 8th.
